Forty-four plates. Double-page fold-out frontispiece in color, a lithograph of a sperm whale. Descriptive Catalogue of the Plates. The earliest trade cards here date from 1730, or thereabouts, as six decades earlier the Crown forbade printing presses in New York. Limited edition, one of 500 copies on rag paper.
