Jamestown, NY: Journal Printing Co., 1887. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Publisher's olive cloth with gilt lettering and log cabin motif to front board. Moderate edgewear and rubbing; minor soil; spine ends and corners bumped and frayed; 2" x 1" piece of cloth missing from lower spine end. Binding shaken and rather loose, with a few gaps starting along gutters where the stitching is weakened. Ffep excised. Prev owner name "Wm. Franklin Strunk" in fountain pen to first blank; thus it appears that this was the personal copy of William "Frank" Strunk (1840-1939), one of the best known residents of the area and the son of a prominent early land owner there. Not illustrated. No stickers or stamps. Not ex-library. 556 pp.
