First English Language Edition. 240 pages, eight black and white photo illustrations, light sand colored hardcover cloth binding with silhouettes of steaming pots on front cover, and a serving bowl decoration printed under the title and author on the spine; advertisements for English kitchen products on front and back pastedowns and end papers; and one for "Bird's Custard Powder" on back cover, "Do not have a roaring fire; it is unnecessary."
