About This Item
1962 hardcover as pictured. A classic African-American cookbook from Freda DeKnight, legendary food writer at Ebony magazine. Described as part cookbook, part cultural guide, the original A Date With a Dish was published in 1948, then reappeared as the current offering in 1962. DeKnight's selections from the thousands of recipes in her collection have stood the test of time. Binding is firm. Aqua boards with black stamping are clean and show only light edge wear. Pictorial endpapers, head and tail bands. Text is lightly tanned but appears otherwise clean and unmarked. Small stain on edge of text block. Dust jacket with tiny chips, and small tears at top of spine is protected in mylar sleeve. Your purchase helps support our small village library. s OA4
