Presents a rare cross-section of artists working in Paris in the early sixties. Notable artists of various schools, from Dunoyer de Segonzac to Bissiere, and younger artists like Lapoujade and Corneille, were each invited to select 8 artists representative of the School of Paris in 1963. The jurors have contributed short texts explaining their selections (L'art informel, tachistes, members of CoBrA, Nouveaux Realistes, others) and there are numerous black-and-white plates. Includes: Pierre Alechinsky, Karel Appel, Avigdor Arikha, Enrico Baj, Roger Bissiere, Guillaume Corneille, Oyvind Fahlstrom, Hundertwasser, Asger Jorn, Sebastian Matta, Edouard Pignon, Herve Telemaque, others.
