Please note that this is a heavy object and may require additioal postage for international shipping. ; Bevelled boards bound in white cloth, decorated with gilt thistle motif on front board and spine, mininal spotting toward base of front board, both boards slightly marked; Pages age-toned, gilt top edge a touch tarnished, rough-cut bottom and fore-edges, offsetting on endpapers, minimal foxing throughout, B&W and coloured plates, with a number of original etchings and accompanying tissue guards; Binding tight. This illustrated history was written by Scottish journalist, historian, and educator William Henry Oliphant Smeaton, who was most well known for his travels in and writing about Australia in the 1890s, as well as his children's fiction. ; 8.5 x 11"; 396 pages .
