About This Item
London: T. Nelson and Sons, 1880. Hardcover. Fair. 12mo. 61 pages. A small book measuring 6 inches tall by 4 inches wide. Hardcover in the original Victoria-era orange publisher's cloth with cover designs embossed in black and with a small color pictorial image on the front cover. The spine is toned, and the binding is worn and has spotting and some light soiling. Inner front and rear hinges are cracked-cords show. There is an early bookseller's ink stamp and an owner's inscription on the front flyleaf. The ink-stamp reads, "Cleo J. Mowry - Geneva, Neb., [section of stamp too light to read] America's Greatest Family Newspaper" and "John A Dempster Dealer in Drugs, Stationery, Books & Jewelry, Geneva, Neb." The inscription on front flyleaf reads "Christmas 1880 From the Baptist S.S. To Eddie Dempster." Text has occasional smudging. Illustrated with small text drawings.
