About This Item

Bernard Geis Assoc, 1971. SIGNED by author on title page. First printing--stated. Very good+ (bumped lower corners) in very good dust jacket (one small chip missing at top of front fold, see scan; some light edgewear at corners and along top). Shapiro's first novel. Edsel Lazerow, the protagonist, is a professor of poetry--sound familiar--at a bland Midwestern college disrupted by student unrest. Published while Shapiro was a professor of poetry at the University of California at Davis; wonder if UC Davis thought of itself as a bland Midwestern college. . Signed by Author. 1st Edition. Hard Cover.
