New York: Doubleday, Doran & Co., Inc, 1938. First Edition. Hardcover in Dust Jacket. Very Good/Good+. Thick, small 4to. Pp. 320. Frontis. photo portrait of Sullivan. Bound in full red cloth with gilt lettering and device stamped on spine. Faded dampstain to tail of spine and immediate area of front and rear cover. A clipping of a Sullivan article from the New York Herald Tribune, 1941, is tipped in to the front free endpaper. Offsetting from clipping to front pastedown. The price-clipped dust jacket shows dampstaining along spine, which is faded, and closed three-inch tear on front panel. (Please see photos.). In the article Sullivan reminiscences about life prior to rural electrification. Scarce first edition. Despite condition factors, this copy remains well bound and presentable. Dust jacket is now protected in a clear, removable, archival sleeve.
