About This Item

Dutton Children's Books / Intervisual Books, 1997. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. As New/No Jacket Issued. Roger Stewart color illus/ Jose Seminario paper-engineering. CONDITION: AS NEW - what makes this book AS NEW? 1 lightly bumped corner - top back board - & bottom spine (production) and the fact that I have gently perused but (but pop-ups are still quite tight - so careful!) 1997 Dutton's Books for Children/Intervisual Books hardcover (pictorial boards), first edition, first printing. Color illustrations by Roger Stewart; paper engineering by Jose R. Seminario. All pop-ups work. Lift-the-flaps lead to exciting mummy artwork. AND you can actually "unwrap" a mummy by lifting the flaps. CONTENT: The text is historically correct as are the color illustrations. A fact-filled book featuring ingenious full-color, three-dimensional illustrations delves into the interesting world of mummies, furnishing detailed information on the techniques used in mummification, the tombs in which mummies were buried, and the vast treasures found in the tombs. The detailed text and glittering illustrations capture all the brilliance of Egypt's astonishing riches. From the mysteries of the pyramids to the rites of a god's temple, from the embalming table to the depths of a royal tomb, the scenes pop up to show a fascinating aspect of this ancient civilization.
