About This Item

N. P.: Photographer Unknown, n. d. (ca 1890s)., 1890. First edition. Eight mounted 4 1/2" x 6 5/8" photographs depicting scenes from the Klondike gold region. The first image shows gold miners with a gold pan and bags of gold in front of their tent. The next image depicts a camp scene with tents, a man and a dog. Next we have a steamship entering a harbor, similar to Skagway or Dyea Harbors in appearance. The next image is showing a steamer in the harbor with tubs and tenders alongside her. We then have a full harbor scene with log piers. The next image is of the Army and Navy Club House with a family, including a child on a trike in front of the Woman's entrance. The next is a mountain scene with a small ice sheet heading into the water. Finally, we have a camp scene with a man and a woman, tents and a lean-to. The man in this image is holding what could possibly be a sieve box.
