The Danish-born artist Henrik Drescher (b. 1955) immigrated to the United States in 1967. Dropping out from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston after only one semester, he launched himself into a career as an illustrator and traveled the world in search of inspiration, keeping a journal of his notes and drawings. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, Time magazine and he both authored and illustrated several books, including children's books and portfolios of prints.
The founder of the Salient Seedling Press in 1978, Katherine Kuehn was a student and assistant to Walter Hamady of the Perishable Press. Her collaborative work with artists, writers and printers are noted for her use of her own handmade papers and the versatility of typographic styles.
Also a student of Walter Hamady, Ruth Lingen founded Poote Press in 1982, producing broadsides, books and miniatures. She's worked as a fine draftsman at the South Street Seaport's Bowne & Co. and as a printer at Pace Editions.
