New York, NY, U.S.A.: The Continuum Publishing Company, 2002. Trade Paperback. Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Rivera, Diego. 256pp. Full-page illustrations by Diego Rivera. Illustrated wrapper is clean and without wear. Binding square and sound. Small octavo: 202 x 130mm. Originally published in 1935 and the first winner of the Mexican National Award in Literature, El Indio (The Indian) was translated from the Spanish by Anita Brenner and published in English in 1937 by The Bobbs-Merrill Company, and republished in 1961. This Continuum edition is A Frederick Ungar Book and includes the Prefatory Note by Lynn Carrick found in the 1937 Bobbs-Merrill edition.
