Hardcover. 22cm, vii, 64,32,96,99,(1),16pp., text figures, printed in double columns, index, in the original grey cloth, expertly restored, partial remaining ori ginal paper label replace and most of the original spine replaced, a fine copy thus. (sgc) A series of treatises delivered in 1827, 1828 and 1831 by one of t he founders of The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, Peter Mar k Roget (1779-1869). Notably early material on the subjects considering Far aday discovered electromagnetic induction in 1831. Roget is best remembered for his "Thesaurus of English Words and Phrases" known commonly as "Roget' s Thesaurus
