Antoine Baumé was an 18th-century French chemist who is only remembered by two of his works – 'Elements of Pharmacy' and 'Experimental Chemistry'. While 'Chemistry' was important, 'Pharmacy' was without question Baume's most important and influential scientific work. This book contains explanations on the fundamentals of chemistry and medicinal formulas and how the basics of Pharmaceuticals rely on these sciences. Baume outlines the art of making liquors, confections, and purified waters, and how they are necessary in medicines.
