About This Item
Binding square and tight. Lightly bumped at tips and spine ends. Previous owner's book plate affixed to free end page otherwise contents clean, bright and unmarked. Jacket is whole and complete and shows light rubbing and edge wear. I have enclosed the Jacket in a removable mylar sleeve to protect it from further wear. A very nice copy!
Synopsis
Readers learn how elephants came to have long trunks in this classic fairy tale. “With restraint, respect and high good humor, Cauley has fashioned dozens of illustrations . . . that do not overwhelm the story. . . . About as fine a rendering as we are likely to see in what is surely among the rare best children’s stories ever written.”-- School Library Journal
