Pp. xiv+96(last blank), frontispiece, vignette title page, text illustrations, bibliographical and textual notes, glossary; med. 8vop; qr. light brown linen, spine lettered in gilt, orange/red papered boards, patterned with tiny gilt fleurs de lys, small damp stain to upper board, edges a trifle faded, the bottom fore-corners lightly worn; uncut; free endpapers faintly offset; Frederick Etchells & Hugh Macdonald/The Haslewood Books, London, 1925. One of 650 numbered copies thus (total edition 725). Ransom 6. *The text is selected from four 'conversation manuals' written by two Huguenot refugees who taught French for their livelihood in Elizabethan England. The illustrations are reproduced from the Roxburgh Ballads.
