About This Item
This is a very rare copy of the first US edition of "Elli of the Northland", signed and dated in the year of publication by Margaret Ruthin (in reality, Arthur Catherall). It had previously been published in the UK in 1961 as "Reindeer Girl", and is set in the wilds of Lapland.
A collectable children's book in beautiful condition.
The book has pale blue boards with gilt and black lettering to the spine and pink to the top page-ends.
The colourful illustrated dust-jacket (Enrico Arno) is complete and un-clipped, showing the purchase price of $3.50. The only flaw is a small slight water-stain at the top of the rear of the dust-wrapper.
