Press, 1950, 2nd printing, 380 pages Signed Hardback in good+ condition, Dust Jacket a wreck see photo. Text clean and unmarked, binding tight, some slight tanning of pages due to age, also hint of musty smell. Cover is total wreck, rips, tears, separations etc. James Bouchard was the son a French mother and a Delaware Indian father. He came West in the 1860ies when much of the romance was gone and the hard living miners were in need of consolations. He traveled widely through the mining camps as well holding the pulpit of St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco. A lot of early California History as well as the story of man who fought all comers to uphold his faith.
