Erik Schaap published a book about Walraven van Hall and mentions this early book on Walraven van Hall.Walraven (Wally) van Hall (10 February 1906 - 12 February 1945) was a Dutch banker and resistance leader during the occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. 1750. Rare printing of Doctor Faust's chapbook in Dutch. Woodcut on title, 58 (repeated) woodcut illustrations. A total of 60 vignettes. Complete. More recent paper covers. These are somewhat rubbed with significant rubbing and loss to the spine. Written number to the front cover. The date c.1750 is printed on the remnant of a catalogue label stuck to the front cover. The impressions of the engravings are somewhat are somewhat blurred. P. 41, repeated on p. 76, the illustrations are not woodcuts but metalcuts. The shape of the heads of the nails with which the plates were mounted on wood are printed on many of them. A nice example. 86 (2) pp. 205 x 165 mm (8 x 6½ inches).
