About This Item
University of Washington Press, Seattle WA, 1991. Book. Very Good. Wrappers. 96 pages. Softcover bound with illustrated stiff paper wrapper covers. Light wear and rubbing to the covers, and the remains of an adhesive price sticker are on the half title page. But the binding is tight and secure, with a clean interior that is free of markings. A good number of illustrations, with a decent index. Aside from being a biography of the explorer, written by the then assistant keeper in the British Museum's Department of Ethnography, John Mack also describes the role that the British Museum was to play in the expeditions into "The Dark Continent.".
