First Edition 8vo size hardcover with dust jacket; 294 pages with some black and white illustrations. Author photograph on inside back jacket flap. From dust jacket: "Emma's letter's collected from 1854, when she was 11, until she left home as a young bride in 1868, have been lovingly woven into a rare and intimate glimpse of Emma's world. The collected correspondence and literate narrative reflect the passions and problems, the fads, fun and frustrations of everyday life as it was lived to the middle of an earlier, more innocent age." Also includes ephemera: a photocopy of the Kirkus Review and Booklist Review. In very good condition, we note only a quarter inch tear to top of dust jacket and sticker remnants on spine.. Book appears unread. Please note, while there is no owner underlining in the text, the style of the book includes underlined words, perhaps as reproduced from the original letters and as seen in our photographs. . Signed by Author. First. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
