Fragile dust jacket is lacking top quarter-inch of front panel and spine, half-inch chip at bottom edge of back panel. Jacket is separated into two pieces at crease of spine but otherwise intact, now protected by clear mylar sleeve. . Book is VG, bound in blue cloth with bright gilt titles to front cover and spine, top edge is bright gilt, somewhat scratched and rubbed. Binding is tight, pages are clean and unmarked. . A collection of the author's essays on the theatre. Woollcott was an American critic and writer for the New York Times. This is the first printing. Scarce in dust jacket. . Small 4to 9" - 11" tall. 260 pages. D2 .
