About This Item
Seattle, Washington: The Mountaineers, 1991. Hardcover. VGFN/Near Fine. viii, 308 pp. With black and white and color plates throughout. K2, known as the "Mountain of Mountains" by international climbers is only marginally lower than Everest, but excels it in danger and difficulty. Includes 5 appendices. The author tells the story of his growing obsession with this mountain, one he shares with the British climber, Julie Tullis, his rope-mate and partner in forming "the highest film team in the world". He also tells his first hand account of the tragedy that unfolds at the top of this mountain in the summer of 1986. A little rubbed at the bottom, some foxing at the top edges, VGFN in Near Fine dust jacket.
