Nobody knows how many horses and ponies there are in Britain. They are everywhere, pulling ploughs or coaches, racing, jumping, performing, hunting, or just existing quietly in a field for the delight and comfort of their owners. Their text acompanied by Kit Houghton's photographs, gives a fascinating picture of the diversity and joy of horsemanship and of the relationships that grow between people and horses.
