LONDON: SMITH, ELDER & CO, 1880 Dark Green cloth boards with gilt titles to spine and black blocked with decoration to front, 225 x 145 mm approx. bible brown end papers, xii + 434 pp + 2 of publisher's adverts. Frontis with tissue guard + 15 other steel engraved plates of famous trees as called for. 1880. Good ( Heavy shelf wear and moderate soiling, end papers cracked- mull and sewing cords holding and binding generally sound but clearly a much read book. Occassional pencil underlining/ marking and extensive subject related pencil notes to rear blank, tissue guard a little tanned.
