Title: Entombment with Three Birds (vertical) 1485-90 Circa: 1470-1475 (this is a later printing 18-19thC) Engraving: of burin and dry point; Plate: 46 x 35.5 cm (18 x 14") Paper: 53 x 39.5 (21 x 15.5") Description: The Entombment; two men lower Christ's body into a stone tomb in front of a cave in the side of a hill, watched by lamenting bystanders; in the background Golgotha and the three crosses above which three birds fly. (some versions of this print show four) Condition: Excellent one closed tear to edges.
