With an Appendix Giving a Condensed History of the Jews, New York: Vanderpool & Cole, 1827. 12mo, priority unknown here, pp. 420, 32 (appendix), tree calf boards with gilt lettering and decoration to spine, all edges tinted yellow, folding maps, 1 hand-colored, chart, other illustration. The author, who entered Yale College at age 12, was a leading temperance speaker and preacher, and the present book, which was written for young people, was a big seller that went through 16 editions (Allibone p. 1088, Wikipedia). Condition of this book: Covers worn at edges, front joint cracked, spine lettering is flaking away, small piece at head of spine is gone. Varying degrees of internal foxing and staining. Shipments outside the U.S. may be subject to local taxes. Size: 12mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting.
