The author, who entered Yale College at age 12, was a leading temperance speaker and preacher, and the present book, which was written for young people, was a big seller that went through 16 editions (Allibone p. 1088, Wikipedia).Condition of this book:Covers worn at edges, front joint cracked, spine lettering is flaking away, small piece at head of spine is gone. Varying degrees of internal foxing and staining. Shipments outside the U.S. may be subject to local taxes. Size: 12mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
