Wien: Herbert Reichner Verlag, 1933. Hard Cover. Very Good binding/Very Good dust jacket. Octavo. 24 pp. Limited Edition, number 91 of 200 copies. As issued in red cloth over flexible boards; spine title is a trifle faded; contents clean; printed in red and black; illustrated throughout with 32 facsimiles in addition to a folding frontispiece and three other folding facsimiles. Dust jacket with printed paper spine label is a trifle darkened on the spine else and very gently shelfworn; both book and jacket are in Very Good or better condition. Stapled pamphlet, "Die Autobiographischen Aufzeichnungen Erhard Ratdolts 1462 - 1523" is present in the sleeve on the front pastedown. Uncommon look into 15th and 16th century printer. Text in German.

Melcher was an American publisher, bookseller, editor, and a major contributor to the library science field and book industry, noted for creating and helping to fund the Newbery Medal and Caldecott Medal. Erhard Ratdolt was a master printer in Venice and Augsburg, who published one of the earliest modern title pages, printed geometric diagrams, and created the earliest known type specimen.
