Erhard Ratdolt was a master printer in Venice and Augsburg, who published one of the earliest modern title pages, printed geometric diagrams, and created the earliest known type specimen. As issued in red cloth over flexible boards; spine title is a trifle faded; contents clean; printed in red and black; illustrated throughout with 32 facsimiles in addition to a folding frontispiece and three other folding facsimiles. Dust jacket with printed paper spine label is a trifle darkened on the spine else and very gently shelfworn; both book and jacket are in Very Good or better condition. Stapled pamphlet, "Die Autobiographischen Aufzeichnungen Erhard Ratdolts 1462 - 1523" is present in the sleeve on the front pastedown. Uncommon look into 15th and 16th century printer. Text in German.
