Victor Hugo nannte ihn den »Homer der Insekten«: Die Erinnerungen des legendären Insektenforschers Jean-Henri Fabre erstmals vollständig auf Deutsch. Jahrzehntelang widmete sich Jean-Henri Fabre der Beobachtung und Beschreibung der Insekten in ihrem Lebensraum: von der Grabwespe, dem Mistkäfer und der Gottesanbeterin über die Spinne bis hin zum Nachtpfauenauge. Dabei gelingen ihm literarische Gattungsbiographien, die zu den schönsten und einfühlsamsten aber auch genauesten Tierbeobachtungen zählen, die je geschrieben wurden. Fabre stand mit vielen Geistesgrößen seiner Zeit in Kontakt, beispielsweise mit Charles Darwin, dessen Auffassung der Instinkte und der Entstehung der Arten er vehement ablehnte. Doch mit seinen Erinnerungen schuf er ein unvergleichliches, unerschöpfliches künstlerisches Monument, ein so ungewöhnliches wie herausragendes literarisches Meisterwerk, mit dem es ihm gelingt, dem Leser die Poesie des Lebens und der Natur zu offenbaren. »Ich glaube nicht an Gott, ich sehe ihn«, versicherte er im hohen Alter. Inmitten einer positivistischen Welt, die Analyse und Berechenbarkeit absolut setzt, entdeckt Fabre die Schönheit der Schöpfung. Sein nie endendes Staunen vor den Wundern der Natur und ihrer Schönheit fasste er in Worte und wurde damit für Generationen von Schriftstellern, von Victor Hugo, Marcel Proust und André Gide über die Surrealisten bis hin zu Ernst Jünger zum Vorbild und Inspirationsquelle. Sales return
In the event of a well-founded claim, the merchandise can be returned upon consultation within 14 days. If the claim turns out to be unsubstantiated, or the damage is the result from improper handling by the customer etc., all the costs are charged to the customer. Returns are only accepted with the invoice enclosed. Damages during shipment have to be notified within 48 hours. Otherwise the refund expires. Return upon dissatisfaction is excluded.
Place of venue
We are subject only to Swiss law. Place of venue is Zurich.
