Ex Reference Library - re bound in a quarter leather (or pseudo- leather) library binding with glossy cloth-covered boards. Bright gilt titling to the spine, including the Dewey decimal library numbers. No date shown so date taken from the Preface. ? 1910/11 ? Page fore-edges browned and foxed (spotted) with age. Overall internally minimal library markings - a Reference label to the front pastedown and small oval - erasable - stamps here and there in the book. New plain yellow endpapers. Some foxing to the half-title and to the tissue guard for the b/w portrait frontispiece of Hardy, o/w generally very clean and tight. FRENCH TEXT throughout. A card with 'Errata' inserted before the Avant-Propos (Foreword) . (8) + 508 pp including the Bibliography; et Analyse des Chapitres. One further b/w tissue guarded portrait of the older Hardy. See Images; Ex-Library; Large, Thick, 8vo 9" - 10" tall .
