Boston: James Loring, 1839.. 1839.. Good. - Small octavo, dark green cloth stamped with a diamond pattern & titled in gilt on the spine with decorative frames in blind on both covers. The binding, which has been repaired and recased, is bumped with a few small white stains & some light staining to the front cover. There are chips out of the head & tail of the spine. The pastedowns and endpapers are new. vi, [ii] & pages [9]-367. There is an owner's ink signature on each pastedown. There is scattered foxing & the pastedowns, endpapers & rear blanks are darkened. Ex-library with a library label on the front endpaper, the remnants of labels on the pastedowns & a handwritten numeral on the first page of the Preface. Good only. <p>"Sixth American from the Eighth London Edition, with Additions and Improvements by the Author".
