About This Item
Tight, square, uncreased spine has some sunning. Some light shelf-wear. Former owner name to the first blank leaf and a few areas of notes/underlining in ink to the text. Nice, bright copy over all. An excellent compendium of theosophical knowledge consolidating information on the etheric body from a range of esotericists, including Annie Besant, C. W. Leadbeater, Curuppumullage Jinarajadasa, Rama Prasad, A. P. Sinnett, and Helena Blavatsky. According to the book's 1968 foreword, Powell's process also included research 'derived from the exercise of clair-sentience (or extrasensory perception as it is now called)'. Jane A. Evans's cover design features type that has its own etheric double in the form of a mystic blue drop shadow, as well as a silhouette with a Guadalupan full-body halo. The 1980s neon color scheme and pixelated bubble font to the back contrasts sharply with the original 1925 publication's reprinted interior, which incorporates hanging citations and a variety of beautifully rendered figures illustrating the concepts discussed ('An Ultimate Physical Atom'; 'Formation of "Spokes"'; 'Absorption of Vitality Globules'). 140 pp.
