About This Item
Farrar, Straus, Giroux, 1977. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 84 pages. The author's third book, a collection of poems. Woiwode is the Poet Laureate of North Dakota and a noted Western writer. First edition (first printing). A very good copy in a very good dust jacket. Spine a bit faded; book a bit musty. A very nice literary association copy, inscribed, 'For the Shattucks, another book, by that same guy, from all of us, Larry, Carole, Newlyn, & Joseph. 5/31/78.' The Shattucks were Charles and Susan Shattuck. Charles was a noted Shakespearean scholar and one of Woiwode's most important influences in college. Woiwode writes extensively about Shattuck in his book What I Think I Did.
