London: Bell & Daldy, 1873.. 432pp. Full calf, armorial device on front cover, a prize binding. Marbled edges and end papers. Award sticker on front end paper from Victoria College, Jersey, 1877. Illustrated title page and 24 inserted plates. Calf rubbed, competently rebacked at some point, small private library sticker on rear end paper, internally quite fresh. The first edition was issued in 1846, there are many others. A collection of romantic, historical tales, nicely illustrated.
