Spine and extremities of back cover are moderately faded (as usual, due to red color), else a near fine copy, nicely printed using red and black type. Second American edition, and first American edition thus, with foreword by J. B. Priestley, limited to 350 copies "printed on the occasion of a dinner given by the Yale University Associates in honour of Thomas Mann" [Burgen IV: 488A]. Thomas Mann won the 1929 Nobel Prize in Literature.
