London: Macdonald and Co., 1987. 144pp., pen and ink, and watercolour illustrations throughout. Book clean, square. Spine firm, gilt title there-on. Gilt title and decoration to front panel of brown boards, which have a tiny bump to lower edge only. Leaves clean and crisp. Illustrated dustjacket has a very small area of surface abrasion to lower edge, minor edgewear. Introduction by Christopher Newsom. "Robert and Rachel Jackson write to their Quaker friends at the Manchester First-day School to suggest they come to stay for a weekend at Waterend, Loweswater. The invitation was accepted. The year was 1865. And the visitors numbered forty-four! . . . in gratitude Mary Hodgson and L.M. Lunt wrote their accounts of the expedition in poetry and prose. Their work, painstakingly copied into an album and beautifully illustrated in pen and ink and watercolour, was presented to their hosts. The album survives today . . . " Book weight approx. 596g..
