About This Item
John and Paul Knapton. London. 1754. 4to. . pp. xxiv, 332, 106, 2 Three Whole Length Anatomical Figures....., (ii) Books printed for John and Paul Knapton, in Ludgate-Street. Contemporary boards, new calf reback, new corners, the title and succeeding leaf dusty in the margins and with the top corner of the title repaired not affecting text, the next five leaves with old and faded damp-marking in the fore- and lower margins, the final two leaves of the book with a small ink mark in the top margin, overall a nice copy. *See RUSSELL British Anatomy 1525-1800, #8 : 'This is the text to accompany the 1749 edition of the Albinus plates published by Knapton. It is also the text for A compleat system of the blood vessels and nerves, &c. London, 1750. The latter work is listed under Anonymous [#13].' Russell does not mention the penultimate leaf - Three Whole Length Anatomical Figures; he also makes an error in the pagination, '322' instead of '332'.
