Volume VI of of Explorations and Surveys to Ascertain the most Practicable and Economical Route for a Railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean Made under the direction of the Secretary of War 1854-1855. Contains many lithographed plates the landscapes and Botany being tinted or coloured. Woodcuts in the text. All present althought the contents call for two maps which are not present. Bound in half leather, marbled boards. Board worn, spine faded, plates in generally very nice condition. A very large and heavy book, special shipping considerations may apply.
