About This Item
1995. 1st Edition. No Binding. Very Good. Typed manuscript, inscribed and signed by Brite on the first page. 4to, unbound sheets in manila folder, paginated up to 110 with 10 additional sheets following, printed recto only. Third and perhaps best-known novel from the Kentucky author, Billy Martin, who writes under the name, Poppy Z. Brite. Brite is known for his Southern, gothic horror works featuring openly gay and bisexual characters. This work was initially rejected by Brite's publishers for violent content, but was later published by Simon and Schuster in the US and Orion in the UK. An important work in the genre by an oft overlooked voice from the LGBTQ+ community. Very good condition with moisture staining down the left side of the first page affecting the text but legible.
