About This Item

First Edition and First Printing of the first trade paperback edition, issued at the same time as the trade hardcover, first printing copies of the latter run now $2000+. This is a more economical and viable alternative.

The Eye of the World Book One of the Wheel of Time series" by Robert Jordan (author of "The Great Hunt", "The Dragon Reborn", etc.) First Edition Trade Paperback Issue - First Printing TOR Tom Doherty & Associates with $12.95 cover price on the front. Features stunning wrap-around artwork by the Darrel K. Sweet. Copyright 1990 and states "First Edition: February 1990" with the printing number-line going from down to "1" (from "0" on the left-hand side) which indicates a first (1st) printing.

Fine-/Near Fine+. An exceptional copy not often found as such with minimal signs of reading wear and NO creasing to the spine. Some natural aging to the text-block which is to be expected, a few spots to the right-hand edge of the text, but minor, hint of crimping to two interior leaves, and a little bit of edge-wear to the paper covers but minimal. A really nice copy.

Note on Edition: The true first edition/first printing of "The Eye of the World" (first book of the Wheel of Time) was only printed in about 2000 trade hardcover copies and maybe about 20,000 trade paperbacks in 1990. (A few trade paperbacks were modified into hardcovers when demand was higher than expected.) The series went on to be immensely popular and "The Eye of the World" was reprinted numerous times in generally the same design as the original hardcover and trade paperback issue throughout the 1990's. Jordan died before finishing the series. Fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson was asked by Jordan's family to finish the final volumes.

NOTE: All modern books with dust jackets come with dust jacket covers.
