About This Item

Bangor, Maine: Philtrum Press , 1984. Rare limited edition beautifully signed by Stephen King. From limitation page: "The Eyes of the Dragon was printed and bound in Lunenburg, Vermont, by The Stinehour Press. This first edition was designed and cared for by Michael Alpert. One thousand two hundred fifty copies were printed in the fall of 1984. One thousand copes are for sale and are numbered in black. 1 through 1000. Two hundred fifty copies are reserved for private distribution and are numbered in red, 1 through 250. This is copy '956.' 'Stephen King.'" Very attractive. This example uniqely signed in what appears to be fine green felt-tip. Oversize elephant folio measuring 8 1/4" x 13" in matching slipcase. Red patterned boards, black cloth spine wrap, silver spine titles, light corner wear. Linen-like leaves, fine. Matte grey endpapers. Bind fine; hinges intact. Retains original oversize slip-case matching book with red and white patterned marble-like design, black matte material at all sides, slight wear. Illustrated throughout with striking full and partial-page imagery by Kenneth R. Linkhauser. Near fine signed limited edition in slipcase. Originally published as this limited edition in 1984, this exclusive book quickly achieved mythical status among SK aficionados. "The Eyes of the Dragon" is distinctive among Stephen King's novels as a fantastic tale that can be read as a children's novel. It tells the story of the princes Peter and Thomas, and their quest to jointly and peacefully rule the kingdom of Delain, despite the interference of the evil magician, Flagg. 314 pages. Insured post.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine. Illus. by Linkhauser, Kenneth R. . Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. Book.
