London: S. Grosvenor, 1884. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair. Cuts by Thomas Bewick. Fair. Quarter blue leather with red buckram on the boards, faded at the spine with chips at the head and foot and a split running up the bottom three inches. Square, bound with some reading wear, toned endpapers, newsclippings of a portrait of Bewick and one of his cuts tipped-in on the verso of the half-title, clean otherwise. A collection of forty-one fables that, according to Brown's Preface, illustrate Natural History.
