Paris: Garnier frères libraires, 1875. Hardcover. Very good. [Pierre-Gustave-Eugène] Staal. 416pp. Duodecimo [18cm]. 1/4 leather over marbled boards. With raised bands and blind stamped title on spine, along with faded gilt stamped floral decoration. Lovely marbled textblock edges and endsheets. Mild scuffing to spine ends and edges of boards. Textblock is mildly foxed throughout. Half-title has a 2cm closed tear. Front hinge beginning to crack. A lovely French-language edition of La Fontaine's "Fables," with illustrations by Staal.
