London: C. Whittingham, Chiswick Press, 1812. Covers with two sets of double-fillet gilt borders with corner rosettes. Between them a border of gilt grape leaves. Inner blind-stamped designs. Panelled spine with elaborate gilt designs. Inner dentelles, Old light purple endpapers. All edges gilt. Edges and joints just a bit scuffed, but firmly-bound. Verso of Contents page has a light smudge at top. Remainder of the book is quite crisp and clean. A total of 67 fables in two parts. Engraved head and tail piece vignettes. A charming, mellow volume. First edition was published in 1720. xx, 226pp. . Later Edition. Full Red Morocco. Gentle Edge Wear./No Jacket. 6 1/2" x 4".
