Glocester [Gloucester]: Printed and sold by S. Harward, 1783. 8vo, pp. viii, 268. Contemporary sheep, spine divided by raised bands between gilt rules, spine lettered in ink. Some light spotting, upper blank margin of title-page excised. Binding rubbed and a little worn at extremities, front flyleaf excised. Ownership inscriptions dated 1799 and 1836 to front pastedown. A rare provincial printing of Gay’s fables - ESTC locates just three copies, BL, Oxford, and Cambridge. ESTC T13862.

About McNaughtan's Bookshop
Established in 1957, McNaughtan's Bookshop is the oldest surviving secondhand and antiquarian bookshop in Scotland. Located in the basement of a listed 1820s tenement building at the top of Edinburgh's Leith Walk, we are the only open shop in Edinburgh holding membership of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association. We stock rare, antiquarian, and collectable books on all subjects, along with a substantial range of secondhand books for browsing.
