London: Richard Bentley, 1835. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo (square). Halfbound in dyed dark green calf and light green buckram boards. Title in gilt on spine. vi, [2], 215 p.p., [24] p.p. illustrations including frontis. Bookplate of famous English Decadence poet Algernon Charles Swinburne (1837-1909) on front pastedown endpaper. Binders ticket of Edmund Warroll, Birmingham to bottom edge of front pastedown.Light rubbing to spine and extremities, edges slightly bumped. Frontis loose, with tears taped by previous owner. Small tear to illustration facing p.p. 51, but image is only partially affected. Thread exposed from gutter on p.p. 204. Foxed endpapers and pages, but otherwise in good condition.
