About This Item
Avalonspast Publishing, 2002. First edition. Paperback. Near Fine. Near fine, tiny, light corner crease lower front cover. First (and so far as we know, only) printing. Illustrated softcovers. 199 pp. with bibliography. Profusely illustrated with vintage photos and reproductions. Remarkably scarce pictorial history of the New Jersey Shore town of Avalon, located between Atlantic City and Wildwood in Cape May County. The area, known as Seven Mile Beach, was settled in the early 18th century and was prime real estate even then. The town itself was incorporated in 1892 and was being advertised as a resort town, drawing visitors from the New York City and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
