London: Jon Van Voorst, 1852. 1st edition. 107pp. Illustrated. 12mo. Book condition: Good with cracked front hinge and detached frontispiece. Spine ends have 1/4 inch losses, and cracks in joints. Light foxing on verso of each plate. Slim, handy volume discusses the European tradition of falconry transplanted to British-occupied India. Three illustrated plates depict scenes from the book, and frontispiece depicts a falcon fearlessly attacking a gazelle.
