Nelson & Sons; James Campbell, 1860, . . original cloth, blind-stamped, gilt title on cover in decorative border, spine title lettering, spine faded but lettering still visible, stain on rear cover, a few small stains on some outer margins, very good. . 16mo [15 x 10 cm]; vi, [7]-64 pp12 attractive colored plates (color printed), tissue guards, engraved vignette on title page of rapids above the falls. . Produced as a Nelson handbook for tourism, this guidebook covers Niagara and surrounding area such as Brock monument, ice cave, mineral springs, museum, etc, with good description of each site of place of interest and with four pages of poetry on Niagara at end. First published in 1859, this being the only other printing recorded in Dow 1226: 'The views are fine and beautifully colored'. A picture of this book is available on request by email.
